The grant program for cancer patients assists individuals undergoing treatment in the greater New York Metropolitan region by strengthening their personal support networks. These patients are often in the advanced stages of cancer and often want to visit family or bring friends and family members closer to them. Grants range from $500 - $2,500 and support mostly travel funds, accommodations, telephone calls and other related expenses. Over its history, the Foundation has brought together families from Romania, Korea, Brazil, St. Croix, India, Santo Domingo, Trinidad, United States, Germany, England and other parts of the world.

Individuals cannot directly apply to the Foundation. Only individuals living and receiving treatment in the greater New York metropolitan region are eligible. The process is by-nomination only through a network of social workers at the following hospitals:

Children's Hospital of New York Presbyterian
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center
Hackensack University Medical Center (The Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital; The Cancer Center)
Einstein Cancer Center
